The new Letzigrund stadium was reopened in 2007 with the Weltklasse Zurich athletics meeting. For this occasion, the Zurich Trophy was awarded for the first time. It is thanks to the organizers of the city of Zurich and the new stadium and was the final highlight of a great athletics meeting. For this purpose, a corresponding challenge cup should be created, which is awarded every year to the victorious squadron.
