Ashtray
Driade, Italy
The rather unpleasant look of an ashtray, filled to the brim, was the somewhat ambivalent setting-out point in approaching this subject. An ashtray should be at hand in a living room but not immediately visible - albeit ready to perform its service whenever necessary. The outcome? Two identical cylindrical pieces that can be turned around and placed on top of each other to form an closed unit. Each element can be set down on its own and thus used as an ashtray. When the empty parts are not being used, they can be placed together in order to not reveal their contents.
