The Lines Of My Thoughts 2005
Cartoons
Designers' Saturday - Oslo, Norway
At the beginning of every design process, many images come into my head. These images are very different, models, references, waage memories; they are also comic, witty, ironic and sarcastic. Often I look through cartoon books when I have a design block. It relaxes me, brings a smile and reactivates my ideas. Cartoons have things in common with my work: it‘s about leaving things out, saying the maximum with a few strokes. And, when it works, without words. As with design, cartoons are about line, about optimising and economy of media. I show for the first time my other thoughts and other sides of me. These thoughts find a place in my small sketch books or on notepaper. Perhaps one day I make a small book out of them. For the time being though, these are just individual drawings that I call; The Lines Of My Thoughts.
