We have all seen many sofa beds. They are usually more than two metres long, look like what you would expect of a sofa bed and do not allow space for more than one person to sleep on them. In a room, they demand a lot of space. The idea of designing a chair bed gave me a chance to basically do the opposite. The chair has a high back rest and when the seat is opened out, it forms a lounge chair and with further unfolding, a spare bed. Only at this point does it require more space. I am always delighted to invent new typologies; this was one of them.
