Shoe Boxes
Bally, Switzerland
The idea was to adopt a completely new approach to the construction of boxes, and one that would ensure their visibility in shop storerooms. An environmetally friendly and challenging technology was required. The solution was to use an egg-carton type of construction. The only problem was that these cartons are too small for shoes or boots, and this created a real challenge for the engineers and designers. Sadly, however, Bally has changed its policy direction many times, and although the tools and first two trial series were manufactured, the product never went into production. Nevertheless, my vision retains its validity.
