Marble Pavillon
IMIB, Turkey
I aimed for a pavilion that suggests the various ways of living with marble. Playing upon contrasts and opposites that nevertheless combine in great harmony, the space is divided in an inside and outside, as well as in an active and passive part, just like the dwellings most of us live in – thus also demonstrating the versatility of natural stone. The materials are rich in colour, drawings and forms, and yet the overall atmosphere is quiet and calm. Within the boundaries of only a couple of square metres, we are able to find our own, private sanctuary. And that, I think is enlightening.
Marble types used: Beach Flower, Perfetto Sinfonia, Orient Pink, Rosso Anatolia, Vize Pink, Camelion, Dolomite, Bordeaux Grizo, Blue Magic, Marmara White, Mugla White, Milas Sedef, Milas Leylak, Bursa Beige, White Onyx.
