He seems Swiss through and through, the family name speaks for it. But Alfredo Häberli was born in Buenos Aires in 1964. As a teenager he went back with his family to the home of his grandparents. He studied design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Zurich and founded his studio after graduating in the early nineties. Today Häberli is the most famous product designer in Switzerland. Many works for companies like Alias, Iittala, Offecct and Luceplan are timeless classics. Moroso and Andreu World wanted to present new seating furniture by him at the Milan Furniture Fair at the end of April - but that has been cancelled for this year. (Original article in German.)
